Gene has lived in Belmont, NC for more than a decade. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University. He volunteers as a youth soccer coach in his community and says the pride of his life is his 15-year-old daughter, Layne. 

Gene has a background in continuous improvement as it relates to meeting customers' needs and exceeding their expectations.  Since receiving his MBA his focus has been on the insurance, operations, and banking sectors in the area where he held senior level roles. Scot is a licensed insurance agent who has lived in the Gastonia area for 14 years. He’s excited to be offering more choice and expert counsel to his neighbors in North Carolina.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from UNC Wilmington, and has earned the professional designations Associate in Claims, and Associate in Insurance Services. He has over 20 years of combined claims and agency experience, and has worked for several well-known insurance carriers.

In his spare time, Scot enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family. He also enjoys cooking and likes sourcing his ingredients from local businesses.  He gives back to his community as a student mentor for Gaston County Schools, and has coached youth sports. He also serves as a Committee Chair and leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
